Stefan, Adrian is right that a sample PDF along with the command line and actual and expected output would be useful. I checked the bug report at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87161 and it does not include an example PDF, which could be one reason why it didn't get much attention. That bug report links to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=908624 which does have a sample PDF called Dirichlet.pdf, but the current version of pdftops seems to work ok on it.
