Shortly after the above announcement, I reached out to Ao Qi and offered to help him with the efforts to get this code merged into upstream OpenJDK. I am in no way affiliated with Longsoon, I just have a personal interest in seeing the OpenJDK finally land full throttle on MIPS. In as much as I will be able to help Ao, I am seeking a nomination for membership in the porters group. I am an official signatory on the CDDL (now OCA), and I would submit as part of my CV my extensive work with the (now defunct) OpenSolaris community as a core contributor to the ARC group and occasional patch submitter in general. My hope is that as an official member, and once Ao Qi and his team sort out their OCA licensing, I can continue to liaise with Ao and more effectively help him with whatever he and his team need done. I can provide direct links for references if requested, but some low tech google-fu should turn up a few links with my name and PSARC, LSARC, and SMF in combination. For what it's worth, I make a living off of Java and its surrounding ecosystem, and have been a hardware hacker since age 9. Kindly requested, Mark M.
