headsup: geo/gdal has a maintainer, so procedure is to send your update

don't handroll them, use makesum. (distinfo is correct, checked.)
you can test the distinfo with make checksum.
i'd advise you to start reading the ports manpage to get an overview and
follow up with those manpages referenced.
also check out the faq on the website. (be aware that the faq might not
reflect the most recent changes to the ports system.)
