Updating to pre-release versions - or a vcs snapshot - is not the kind of thing we tend to do. I can think of three good reasons: bugs impacting OpenBSD already fixed upstream, *very* attractive features / security improvements, or when the port's MAINTAINER wishes to stay close to upstream development. mail/abook doesn't have a maintainer; what about other reasons?
