Hi,
I am a country music loving NYC woman who is sadly isolated from fellow
worshipers at the altar of twang. Most of my aspiring-to-be-urbane
friends gasp in horror when I reveal my musical tastes, or, at best,
laugh nervously as if I might next suggest we eat some Kraft singles
and watch "Booty Call." I have made some progress with my boyfriend
over the years, but it has been slow. (With the help of some
affirmations, he can actually purchase a cd from the country section
now.) I have recently suffered a further setback, as my one truly
appreciative concert companion has been consumed by the swing dancing
movement.
A sympathetic friend in California alerted me to the existence of this
list, and I am hoping to find some comrades with whom to explore the
country scene in New York. I hope it's not bad mailing list etiquette
to post such a verging on personal ad appeal, but I really could use
support maintaining my "out and proud" attitude about my musical
preferences.
