I want to be able to translate email address _pairs_. In other words,
When receiving an smtp request:
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
I want to translate that to a pair of addresses:
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
The translation needs to be dynamic, with the mappings read from a
postgresql database.
You have to write a milter for this.
More precisely: you have to *USE* a milter for this.
If one is not eager to write all the Milter interface and load
management code, the sibling FOSS milters MIMEDefang and MailMunge both
expose an interface where the user can provide arbitrary Perl functions
to do anything they like, using any Perl modules they like.
I am not aware of any milter that implements dynamic conditional
remapping of envelope pairs without a need to code the operative logic
yourself.
