As I copied the output of postconf something did stood out as 'fix me': the $mydestination included $mydomain, I changed $mydestination to be localhost only and it works fine.

Please post the output of "postconf -n". And if you must obfuscate your
domain name, please use names from RFC 2606. They're reserved for
exactly this purpose.
