If someone less computer-savvy takes the time to reply to your confirmation, why would you throw away his response? Sending these from a real address also helps highlight bugs elsewhere in the process. For example, if you have a vulnerable web form, you will find out when the "nobody@" address starts getting Viagra spam rejections from nonexistent addresses in Russia.
