Never? That would be most likely lost logging due to systemd or rsyslog rate limits, or naive logfile analysis that misses that that the logfile is rotated, so that the 'deleted' record is written to different file than the one you're looking at.
I do not think that is the case in this instance. I checked logs and can not find any mention of dropping or suppressing messages. I confirmed my journal is using defaults of 1000 messages in 30 secs. Logs rotate at midnight and this was logged in the middle of the log today. My entire mail log for the day is only around 700 lines. I can not find any indication the logging was ignored/dropped by systemd/rsyslog. This is the 3rd time ive noticed the lack of queue removed in the last month. Its rare which makes me think something funny is going on.
Any other ideas to explore?
