Hi,
Been working with Pound for a while now, but mostly on CentOS distributions.

Currently trying to compile Pound 2.6 on SmartOS (solaris variant).

I got passed the configure stage with this command:

# ./configure --with-ssl=/opt/local/include/openssl/ --disable-pcreposix

however, when I make, it gives me a pound needs openssl/ssl.h message
even though /opt/local/include/openssl/ssl.h exists.

Maybe you already solved this; anyhow...

Double check your paths.

From your compiler output, gcc is probably expecting to
find the include file at:
  /opt/local/include/openssl/include/openssl/ssl.h

If the include file is at:
  /opt/local/include/openssl/ssl.h
Maybe you installed openssl with /opt/local as a prefix?

If so, try to pass --with-ssl=/opt/local to the Pound
configure, and see if there's a difference.
