I completely forgot about this metapad. Actually it may give a clue about the auto-creation of the scroll bar. The metapad comes in two different versions, "normal" and "light" edition. BTW, the normal version has an option of this auto-creation of the scroll bar whereas the light version does not. The main difference of the two versions is whether using RichEdit Control (riched20.dll) or not. So, we may infer from this that the auto-creation of the scroll bar requires riched20.dll that PP does not use. I don't know the exact reason why PP does not utilize riched20.dll, my memory tells me there were some troubles in the riched20.dll, which might be one of the reason. BTW, wordpad does not use RichEdit Control but has the ability to auto-create scroll bars. In this case, maybe MFC libraries do the job that I don't really know, but it's obvious that PP does not use MFC libraries. ------------------------ Yahoo!
