Here is an extract out of my script - the search function is not
stand alone - I just took it out of the total script and deleted all
lines not belonging to the search. If I have more time the next weeks
I can give you the rest of the script - have to make it a bit nice
before. But in any case - I can put some screen shots ?anywhere? to
show you what it looks like and to give you an idea before you dig
deeper. Just let me know where you want them.
Here the sript idea:
I go for the handle list per category since note.handlelist can only
handle about 55 handles. If you look at all categories with one call
this might get tight. But so you can have about 55 notes per category
what should be enough.
The found section just shows notes where the search string was found.
There are 2 versions. One just blends away all notes where the search
string was not found. The other one makes in addition to this a sort
and shows the result on the screen in a formated output like this

The sort function is just a vec.doublesort(CAPTIONTEXT,HANDLE) and
then followed by a note.move(HANDLE,COLUMN,LINE) to move the notes to
the screen position.
The search (here no sort & move) cut out of the sript looks like this
(the CATEGORYLIST can be added manually what enabels to define a
category sort order or could be read from the notes folder
automatically):
