The fact that manipulating windows (i.e. closing all windows with a
specific class name) solves the problem leads me to strongly believe
that this isn't a video problem, but more a problem with the way
PowerPro handles windows.

I think I mentioned my little theory before but if not: I believe that
PowerPro writes off a fraction of windows as special windows that
shouldn't be touched. This list of windows would obviously contain
entities like the taskbar, desktop and such, but it may accidentally
contain these shadow windows as well if they come from a special
process that PowerPro has been instructed (by Bruce) to leave alone.
