I disabled the Themes service in XP and I'm still getting ghosts. However I
did notice something interesting which is probably why we're getting the
ghosting.

If you have a tooltip displaying when you do the Vdesk next the tooltip
disappears when you're on the new vdesk. However, when you switch back to
the original vdesk that was showing when you were displaying the tooltip,
the tooltip re-appears for a very short time, and then disappears. And when
it disappears it's leaving the shadow.

I'll bet whatever timer/event windows is using as the destroy tooltip shadow
window command is triggering when the tooltip window is being hidden by
powerpro on the other vdesk and thus not being executed on the hidden
tooltip shadow. Then, when you switch back to that vdesk whatever is waiting
for the tooltip destroy triggers, but whatever was there to hide the shadow
has already triggered and missed the hidden shadow window.

I did find what is creating the shadows though. Display properties |
Appearance tab | Effects button | Show shadows under menus. If you disable
this, there aren't any shadows on the tooltips, and the problem doesn't
occur.

I'm sure Bruce could fix this by making all tooltip windows destroy
themselves before the vdesk switch to bypass the problem....or maybe he'll
have a more ingenious idea =)
