I see I just had another crazy episode of mania and paranoia. The delusion seemed so real at the time until Alec calmly posted a proveable fact which brought me back to earth. Thanks Alec. Thanks also to the others who confronted me, especially Alex Peters' excellent message.
I have decided to retire from this list, because there seems to be no way I can prevent such episodes happening. My doctor isn't optimistic; because I am 68 years old it's more likely to get worse than better. Medication is a help but not perfect. Rather than just disappearing from the list silently, I feel I owe you all (and especially David Troesch on this occasion) a brief explanation and a friendly goodbye. You've seen me have crazy episodes like that one before. Whenever one happens, afterwards I feel embarrassed and remorseful, like a hangover the morning after - though I wasn't drinking - it was just a crazy spinout. Each time, I make a resolution promising myself that I will never do it again. Trouble is, during the next spinout I have zero insight about what I am doing. I think I have an extra problem with plain text messages having so little additional information such as body language, etc, so it's too easy for one to read between the lines stuff which really isn't there. In the real tangible world, it happens less often. Usually a friend can help prevent a minor delusion developing into a big paranoid invention - kind of like Alec did first on this occasion. ____________________________________ Many thanks to you all for the interesting involvement over several years. Special thanks to Bruce of course. People often praise his programming skills, but what most impresses me is his generosity, patience ... I can't think of quite the right words ... I mean he's an unusually good person. Thanks Bruce :-) Now you can all enjoy a more peaceful era, without my crazy off topic outbursts :-) Alan Martin ------------------------ Yahoo!
