As far as I know, there isn't any way to do what you describe over the
Yahoo! Groups web interface.

Personally, I just keep all of the messages I receive in my Inbox and
therefore searching through them is quite easy. I know that that
doesn't mean much to anyone who hasn't been receiving Emails for over
a year though...

If results for a search don't come through after a few clicks of the
Next button however, then it hasn't been discussed too recently and so
I believe any such question should be welcome.
