On two XP systems I tried, plus the original Win98 where this was
implemented, PowerPro entries were shown for .lnk files. The target
file, not the short cut, was returned. I did try adding the above
key to my registry. The result was duplicate entries of PowerPro
context menu items; both entries returned the target path, not the
shortcut.
If you Google Groups "content menu handlers lnk", there are messages
from people noting similar behavior.
So it seems that Windows can behave two different ways. I don't
understand what causes the difference.
I am going to leave the configuration program as is; I will add a
comment about lnk files to the help.
