While I find PowerPro brilliant, I do have a few smaller problems
with it, and would like to suggest a new feature. I hope I did not
miss something, since I use PowerPro for only 3 weeks. I have used
Stiletto previously for some 6-7 years (until 3 weeks ago when I had
to switch to PowerPro due to registration key problem in my new Win
XP comp).
I would suggest a new feature:
- *info item to show current processor frequency. Reason? My
notebook is normally set to adaptive processor speed. Occasionally,
it does not react and does not give me the full speed but stays at
e.g. 590 MHz. This regularly happens in Photoshop :) PowerPro would
be the easiest way to confirm or check the speed.
I would also appreciate few small modifications to the existing
features:
- *info item disk to show free space in Gigabytes (ideally,
selectable from 1024 base and plain 10 base - computer Gbytes and
billions of bytes). Currently, it says e.g. 16930.0. It would be
much easier to read as: 16.9.
- in all situations where I can have large numbers, decimal point is
useless and distracts. I would recommend not to have a decimal point
for values over 99. Ideally, a user could add a modifier to any item
that displays numbers to select the number of shown decimal places
(0, 1 or 2)
- *info item pmem to show free memory in whole numbers. e.g. 298.3
MB Free is not more useful information and is harder to read in a
hurry than 298 MB Free.
- *info item uptime to show windows uptime in days:hours in addition
to the current combinations
This may actually be a bug:
- icons are too close to the right edge of the buttons in my bar,
they are truncated at the left edge for a pixel or two (the first
one or two columns seem to be missing, vertically cut off from the
display)
