With the update I'm not seeing CPU spikes anymore, pprotray started from 
userinit finds all icons and seems stable (winxp sp1). However - and I 
don't want to cry wolf - my PC isn't quite the same now, particularly 
networking is very sluggish. I'll keep an eye on it, as it may depend on 
totally different causes than the new pptray.

Debug log uploaded to 0_TEMP_/pprotray_log.zip in file section

Another problem. The proxomitron icon disappeared from my  bar after right 
clicking the icon. I can't get it back. The button itself is fully 
functional, just the icon's gone. bar close / bar show doesn't repaint the 
icon.
