just starting with TC, and have mentioned the poor UI already) that you 
try a couple of others out there that are equivalent (if not better, IMHO)

Paid:  Directory Opus is by all accounts the most powerful Win Explorer 
replacement out there, plus the GUI rocks.

Free:  xplorer2 (also has paid version, which is actually the one I use) 
has a 3-pane interface, (including a tree pane at left) & is extremely 
customisable & powerful:  http://zabkat.com/

I only mention these as you comment on the TC GUI -- I can't stand it, 
staring at all that bold type all day does my head in.  ;-)
