Hi David,

I'll answer as best as I can, but let's not steal ppro space for tc,
even if OT, besides you'll find better answers than mine on forum.

My TC shows name+ext in the name column, and nothing in the ext
column. So, there must be a way to do what you want, but I don't
remember how I set it up, sorry. Of course, you can drag the ext
column and hide it. You can also use the ext column to sort by type,
like xplorer2.
There's no way to hide name&ext columns, it's WAD; venture into
configuration>options>custom columns...

File system plugins (service, process, registry, uninstaller, event
log, calendar, etc. etc.) are designed for access from the 'network
neighborn', that's not the standard windows n.n. - it's another thing.
You'll find it as the last entry of the drives drop down, its symbol
is '\', you can also enter "cd \\" in the command line at the bottom.
Once in the n.n. right click on a plugin entry - if any - and select
properties to configure that plugin.

I'm not an expert on mp3. Generally, the capabilities of a plugin
depend on what the plugin author implemented, so check the plugin
documentation. However, content and lister plugins aren't usually
capable of editing data, so focus on file system and packer plugins if
editing is what you want.

No, registry plugin can't do that. But ask the ghisler forum, I'm
pretty sure there are other options.

On the ghisler forum or totalcmd.ru (hey, that's the name I couldn't
remember!) look for the "TC editors" package, there's a hotkey editor
there.
