I have discovered how to program *all* the extra keys, such as the
Internet and/or Multimedia keys, and also all of the special Logitech
"F1" to "F12" keys (when F Lock is off). By editing Logitech's section
of the registry, you can make every extra key run PowerPro commands
and scripts.

The particular model I have is the "Logitech Access Keyboard".
I am sure the same process can also be applied to other Logitech
keyboards, such as cordless infra red, because they all use the same
iTouch software and the same registry settings.

My method takes a while to set up. It is a tedious job which takes
about one hour, but once it's done, it's done. You will never have to
edit the registry or use iTouchcf again to change what an Extra key
does - just edit your PowerPro hotkey (or [EMAIL PROTECTED]) which you
have set that key to trigger.

Explanation: Like PowerPro has the gui pproconf.exe to customise
your pproconf.pcf, and then powerpro.exe executes it...
similarly Logitech's iTouch keyboards have the gui program iTouchcf.exe
to customise Logitech's section of the registry, and then the Logitech
keyboard driver executes that information.

The iTouchcf program and the executing driver have different ideas
about what is possible. I discovered that the driver can execute
any of the Logitech functions for any of the keys, if suitable info
is in the registry. It is only iTouchcf.exe which limits the options
which it offers to you.

For example, when using iTouchcf, the MyHome key can be customised
but the Media Select key and the User/Sleep key do not appear in
the gui customising program. So naturally one assumes they cannot be
customised but the Media Select and User/Sleep keys do have a section
in the registry, which is read by the driver.

Another important limitation of iTouchcf is that it lets you configure
a key to send a typable keystroke, but not a virtual key code.
You can get round that limitation too, by editing the registry.
By sending previously unused codes, you can have unique hotkeys which
will never clash with hotkeys or keyboard shortcuts used by the system
or applications or PowerPro.
