Hmm... Maybe so. It's quite a long time ago. Then, maybe the bar was
not the FavFolder bar, but some other caption position bar without
"Format Context" that doesn't exist anymore here.

As a matter of fact, I don't use any shell. PP is set to the shell in
my registry. But, I just tested with the (temporary) explorer shell.

Have you tried this with the option "Hide caption position bars..."
checked? The bar remains hidden, well at least here! This is what I
said below and what made me somehow confused.
