------------------------------------------------- This message is not about which icons to choose, only about where they should be stored. -------------------------------------------------
Initially I suggested adding two icons to the distributed PowerPro.icl to save you having to include a separate .icl with your plugin. But, after reading your previous message, referring to the icon with a cogs symbol, to be used for your dialog manager: > This one gets compiled into the editor. I'll chose one > of your suggestions and do it. it dawned on me that of course you can include icons inside your own dialog.dll, and the dialog manager's dll, where they will be most easy for your code to find them. > Be handy if the user could also pick from one one or two > alternatives in the standard archive as well. > Any of the icons you favoured look fine to me. Could you send your > favourites on to Bruce, or Bruce, you happy to include them in next > version's icl? Mmmm, this is not my decision but I question, as a matter of general policy, whether several alternative icons for the user to use should be included in the official PowerPro.icl. If we start doing that, there are hundreds of candidates with an equal claim to be in there (not only icons they might find useful for their dialog.dll creations but also for other purposes). Therefore there are other .icls, and zips full of icons, in the group's "/Files/Icons_and_cursors" online folder, such as AlansIcons2.zip. So, maybe it would be more appropriate for me to add some alternatives, which could be suitable for users to use with their dialog.dll dialogs, to one of my existing general collections. Or maybe some alternative icons for dialogs could be in dialog.dll and your dialog.rtf could explain how to access them: "c:\pathto\dialog.dll",3 I presume dialog.dll will now contain at least the default icon for the dialogs made by dialog.dll Anyway the decision of what goes into Powerpro.icl is for Bruce. ------------------------ Yahoo!
