when I boot, and sort of when I shutdown and restart PowerPro. I have 
4 buttons on my bar, the largest being an uptime script. In the 
latter instance, this button is always the last to appear; the other 
3 appear the moment the bar appears.

no problem here.

One thing I should perhaps mention: I have a startup timer in ppro 
that waits 15 seconds and then launches another application; pproconf 
is unavailable until this timer finishes. It just occurred to me that 
this script MIGHT be the cause of the slowdown, but still I didn't 
notice it until .03
