Thanks for the explanation, Sean.  I found out that by restarting Powerpro 
after the program started would circumvent the problem.  (Now I understand 
why the problem only happened after a period of time.  It only happens 
after I start-up the sametime program. )  Though this would be somewhat a 
hassle, but since it only takes a few seconds to do it anyway, it's not a 
big deal.  So I'll just continue using the built-in hotkeys handling of 
powerpro.

Thanks a lot for all the help and advice from the group!  At least I was 
able to find a workaround for this.
