Thanks Sean, yes, prefer using Ctrl key as I've once accidentally shut
down my computer & once accidentally shut a program I didn't mean to,
both times by hitting Alt-Space then C too quickly, without realising I
didn't have the balloon in focus!
Small thing -- pressing Ctrl doesn't close all balloons, just the last one?
