I'm sorry, neither of them works. I've tried it with both my pcf and 
empty.pcf, with pink, pure red, pure white and pure green, with 0, 1 and 
255 as transparency.

OK, I'll wait. We have a workaround anyway.

Alright. IIRC actually that was also the behaviour before. But I've 
realized it because we were using black to achieve transparency. Things 
are getting clear now :)
