You could not do hooks from dll plugin (at least, not yet). I
expect memory access is the way to go if you wanted to try to
program this in a script.

But I do not think it is fair to expect even an experienced PowerPro
script writer to be able to do such a thing. What you are really
doing with dll plugin is writing C-like programs to the Win32
interface, and this requires that you be a good Win32 programmer,
not just a Powerpro script programmer.

I don't want to try to put taskbar support in PowerPro because it is
too hard to make work for all users, even if I restrict to XP.

But if you wanted to write a plugin or script, possibly others may
be interested.

There are also switches which turn on drag-drag support for a
toolbar. I don't know what happens if you invade the explorer
memory space and force them on.

I would not be surprised if you and Alan could figure out a way to
get at COM interfaces from PowerPro scripts. A COM interface is
really just a structure consisting of pointers to functions in a
standard order.
