Try without pixel blending. Define a background with rounded corners where the part outside the rounding is a color that is only used in that place. Then make that the background color and set transparency to 255. YOu have to use some color that will never appear in the bar (since anywhere it appears it will be transparent). The "real" way to do rounded edges (in XP anyway) is to use regions. I may look into this to get rounded edge bar. The challenge is the 3D frame. I am not sure I would to go to the bother of getting that right. Although I do not see the color reversal you see, I have found that the themes running within the taskbar work differently from themes outside of it. I am not sure why.
