Defining a *info with a script call does not stop the bar hide in my tests with of my own configuration. Try some experiments to see if you can isolate the issue on your configuration. Try things like these, changing just one thing at a time from your current config: 1. Use auto-hide instead of bar hide key. 2. Change the hot key used 3. Remove the *info. 4. Change the script to do something simple like quit(timesec). 5. Any other things you can think of.
