Not a character class without the square brackets, but ... would get a similar result. The alternatives are searched from left to right. So you could never match the \r\n or the \n\r combinations, because after it matches \n or \r it would quit. Same idea when searching for alternate words, e.g., don't search for: the|there because "there" will never hit. Has to be: there|the Regards, Sheri
