How about possibly faulty conditional code around version of common
controls dictated by use of manifest? Or any conditional code based on
OS or IE version?

I know we spent alot of time on problems with tooltips (shadow
windows, tooltip for a control getting disabled after a control had
been clicked, etc.). I thought some of those issues were connected to
use of the manifest. Working fine with manifest now.
