Update:

Some heavier testing later I found
the s2ram failing once (leaving a
corrupted screen, nothing dangerous :-)

And strangely, on booting up, the system locks
(after the quirk, while initialising the cd drive)
until i provide an acpi signal (that is <Fn>, for
all practical purposes and does not hurt :-)
