Hi there, I'm running the 2.6.22-rc6-mm1 kernel with no_hz patch for x86_64 on my Dell Latitude D630 (Core2Duo T7500) and was curious what powertop would tell me. Actually, it's idling at 45-50 wakeups/s without much effort, just the kernel options mentioned in the powertop faq.
About 75% of the wakeups are still caused by "extra timer interrupts", which seems to be quite a lot for a tickless kernel. Has someone achieved lower values with a x86_64 kernel, and how? The second problem is that I don't see the C4 sleep state. Do I have to enable it in the kernel or is that maybe due to a wrong acpi-table? Greetings, Simon
