Hi all,
the 64bit high resolution timer and dyntick patches including Venki's
HPET force enable patches have hit mainline. I expect cpuidle to follow in
the next days.
I want to use the opportunity to say Thanks to all of you who made use
of the highres/dyntick work and helped to get the problems solved which
were hidden by the periodic tick timer.
I personally appreciate your help to get the -hrt patchset into the shape
that it got ready for mainline intergration by testing and patiently
providing debug information when something broke.
I'm quite happy to switch the -hrt project into history mode and continue
the work on it in the mainline kernel. If something turns up during the
2.6.24-rc's I'll try to backport it into the 2.6.23-hrt set, but I hope
that you all can switch to 2.6.24-rc1 as soon as the merge rush is over.
