Hi there,
i just discovered powertop and i love it! However, i'm not getting
consistent feedback about ACPI power usage... from looking at it, i
guess i first have to wait at least 5 minutes to get it to start
working, but it doesnt work.

Well, it does, i've seen it say sometimes i use 0.1 watt (when
really really idle) and that i have like 8 hours left of battery, i
even tried lowering the laptop backlight at that moment and usage went
to 0.0 watt with 14 hours left. I'm pretty sure the estimate is
wrong, i never seen my laptop on battery for more than 3-4 hours (i
once wrote a script that would echo `date` > somefile every minute or
so and the pc was really idle other than that, power was lost after
around 4 hours.

In any case, i'm sure when the estimate will say i have only a few
minutes left, that it will be close to the truth!

The problem i'm experiencing is i've seen this estimate a few times
only and it stopped showing for unknown reason. It is stuck on "no
ACPI power usage estimate available"...

However, ACPI does report information about it:
# cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present: yes
capacity state: ok
charging state: discharging
present rate: unknown
remaining capacity: 50 mAh
present voltage: 7452 mV

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Simon
