Hi List -
Just bought a PB 1400 and was trying to upgrade the RAM in it myself.
Followed the instructions in the manual, took off speaker cover,
carefully lifted up the keyboard - no luck, the cable pulled loose -
took the 5 long screws out of the heat shield and went to pull up the
heat shield - it won't come up. Even tried prying the heat shield up
with a screwdriver, no such luck (and in the process scratched the
screen - anyone know of a fix for that)? Went back and read the
directions - that's all they say. What am I missing? And there seems
to be no way to get the keyboard cable back in place without getting
up the heat shield.
This isn't the first time I've installed RAM in a Mac - but it is the
first time with a PB1400. I've scratched my shiny new toy (well, new
to me at least), and I can't play with it because it needs the
keyboard to powerup. Please help.
Feeling pretty stupid,
Kathryn George
