Kind of SOP for early PowerBooks. My 140 does the same thing.

No solution known, except for prayer. Try having a priest sprinkle holy water 
on it. Incense can help, too.

My solution for recalcitrant PBs is plug in the power supply, let it sit for 
30 minutes, and then reset it. Should be "resurrected" by this simple process.

My second solution of PBs, those that always seem to get a "?", is to have a 
bootable floppy handy (all it need have is the finder and the system file) 
and attempt to boot from that floppy. This solves the stuck hard drive 
problem, the actual cause of the blinking "?".
