Oh, eeew! MacHighPricedHouse is more like it...they are always about
%20-%50 more expensive for anything. (my opinion!)
Bottom line, though, in these days of JIT inventory, product lines that
shift with the day of the week and catalogs that were printed last
month, you run into this problem no matter _who_ you buy from, be they
MacGrubbyGarage Shop or MacGiantCorporate Shiny Warehouse.
Just look at the responses here, we have one reccomending MacWarehouse,
and yet another castigating them for doing the same thing.
I've missed deals at Smalldogs garage sale, too. Got that email Monday
morning saying 'Sorry, that 6x8 Wacom tablet was gone already' when I'd
been all giggly about scoring one for that price all weekend.
It happens, they have onesies and twosies, and about 6,785,987 customers
waiting for Don's email at the end of the week listing the garage sale
items...
Betcha the Caddy's still for sale, though....
Bottom line is, if you're going to be condemning mail order companies
for a plain fact of life in the mail order buisiness, better look to
your alternatives, because you'll be including them all in your
condemnation.
CrapUSA anyone? Still no Apple Store in Arizona ;-( Could use one, too!
We have *one* local Mac shop (other than CompUSA), who charges mondo
ripoff prices on _everything_.
I needed a AAUI-RJ45 ethernet tranceiver...they were willing to sell me
one for $85...I plotzed when I saw that price tag!
