Hi, Paul!
Thank you for your kind offer. Yes, I installed Mac OS 7.6, it is the
only OS CD that it makes it start up.
Everything looks fine in the System Folder. I deleted the usual junk
that it is installed and it is not used by the 540c with PPC upgrade.
I re-installed it twice, w/o deleting anything, on the chance that I did
something wrong. No luck...
Maybe it needs some enabler? Although they should be rolled into the
system by then.
Oh, well... I'll open it up later, just to check that everything is
properly seated. And I have a spare 540 w/o screen, which I use as a
desktop from time to time. I'll exchange the HD's, just in case...
