As I am in digest mode on this list, I can see that the power supply
subject has been covered sufficiently by other list members. (Mike got a
good laugh for stating he would be "particularly surprised if the Germans
had a problem" - as a matter of fact, your electronic equipment is much
safer in Great Britain or Germany as it would be in Texas. /ironic mode on:
As long as it's not soccer or the Euro, we don't have problems.../ironic
mode off: The only problem that you could run into is that the phone plugs
are different in most european countries from the thing you are used to, in
case you have a modem in your 'book and count on using it. This would
require (for analog telephone lines, which are still standard in most
German households) an "RJ-11 to NFN" adaptor which maybe is unobtainable in
the US of A; hotels in Germany may be even trickier because they could have
digital lines (ISDN) or such, and I am not sure about the respective
plugs/receptacles. But don't be too scared about this issue, Munich is full
of electronics shops that are eager to sell you the adaptor for about DM 15
or less, just bring your cable with you. And it is not very probable you
have a digital "modem" (spell: adaptor) in your PB 145b.
