Well, my 540c hasn't been charging the battery on its AC adapter. It
charges fine on the car adapter in the car, and runs fine on the AC adapter
in the house (I think the battery circuit is going/gone on the AC adapter).
So, I want to keep the AC adapter for use when I run it at my desk and I saw
an adapter that allows cigarette lighter-type devices to be used on 110V AC
plugs (in the house) at Cyberguys.com for $8.95 (Item 141 0190). Then, I
could use my car adapter to charge the batteries and run the computer (since
it's fairly new and very reliable), and use the old AC adapter to just run
the computer. Is this a bad idea or not? I'm planning on ordering tomorrow
night (Monday), so if this is a bad idea, please someone stop me before
then.

Or does anyone have a decent 5xx AC adpter that they may be willing to sell
for $15 or less? (maybe I could trade you a PB 1xx car charger for one)

Thanks,
Eric
