I believe the cost of upping the machine to a CD RW is about $200, which is
the current going rate for an external CD RW drive of the same speed. So
cost isn't an issue, and I prefer to have to carry as little as possible in
my laptop bag. (I usually leave my 3400's Zip module and 2 spare batteries
behind if I'm only going out for a day or less.)
