No, it won't look like that. It will look something like this:

Not a great picture but hopefully, you get the idea.

In your box that the iMac came in, you should have a cable that will allow
the connection from the iMac to a VCR or TV. If not, your local Radio
Shack-like store will have one Ask them for a Standard VGA output port
(15-pin mini D-Sub connector) to VCR cable.

It's possible and easy as long as your recorder has a Line In Port. If it
does, any audio patch cable will allow you to make the hookup.
