Chris, The REA program ends 7 years after they discontinued the model. Which will be the middle of next year, I believe. I have not heard of one individual offer to upgrade... only of the public offers, and IMHO there will not be another. And in this case, Andrew wants a 5300 to modify to make a MP3 tablet. The last offer, you had to pony up $1600 USD and a 5300. I'm fairly sure that is not what you were thinking of. Andrew is a friendly guy so I did not figure that I would have to say be friendly, but persistent. He got my 5300cs and my 5300/100 went as the trade-in for this Pismo I am writing this on. My 5300ce is for use in bad environments (job sites) and as my back up for the Pismo. I sent in two more 5300s thru the REA, but not Andrews. All had the date stamp in the battery compartment.
