> 2-getting a SCSI compact flash card reader. Are these > available anywhere? I posted something relative to this recently (sent 10/5/01), Subject: PCMCIA on 5xx's without cardcage or ANY non-PCMCIA PB. This is a serial to PC Card adapter reader(they cost about $16 anyplace they sell digital camera stuff). I have one by SanDisk. You slip the CompactFlash card in the PCMCIA holder, then you put the whole thing in the CardHostPro. Of course, if you already have a card cage (I do in my 520), all you need is the Compact Flash holder (SanDisk $16). You just put the assembly in your card cage and it appears instantly on the desktop. You can even use CF for extra memory. On my iMac I have a USB VST Tri-Media reader, which reads, writes and formats floppies, CompactFlash, and SmartMedia. Here it is again: > This is another way to use Compact Flash cards on the 5xx series. > It costs less than the original cardcage did and less than I had to pay to > find a scarce cardcage for my 520 on Ebay. Check out this serial to PCMCIA > device from Teleadapt at <http://www.teleadaptusa.com/nme/order_cardhost.htm> > .
