You can put in an Orinoco wireless card (Gold one has higher encription than the Silver) and get it AirPort compatible. Wireless capability! > 2-do you need separate software to enable the PB 500 > to see the card, or does it just show up on the > desktop? Yes, there was some software to install (to get it to see the PCMCIA cardcage. I had trouble installing it at first. However, when I turned all extensions off when restarting before installing it installed OK. an PCMCIA card placed in the cardcage shows up on the desktop, just as if you had inserted a floppy, immediately. It has a different icon pertinent to the PCMCIA card of course. > 3-Would I have trouble finding non-PPC modem software > for a modem card? Your computer system can see the modem in the cardcage. The clue is to set it to the proper setting between "compatible" and the other depending upon whether or not you have an internal modem.
