Hi, list...

I have this PowerBook 540c that I have had shelved for about a year or two,
and I recently decided to fire it up just to play around with it a bit.

Now, it runs just fine, but there is a slight problem: it won't recognise
its battery. Hardly a big problem; the battery wouldn't keep it running for
more than 20 minutes, anyway, but still. I've reset the power manager
according to Apple's instructions (TIL article #14449), run Intelligent
Battery Update, Lind's BU500, all to no avail.

I'd like to rebuild the battery with new NiMH cells, but I'm kinda worried
that the PowerBook wouldn't recognize the rebuilt battery, either.

So, does anyone have any tips as to getting this PowerBook to recognise its
battery?
