do you know what timeserver it's trying to contact now? If you get that (from error messages or the docs or from logs, if you have certain network capabilities) you can use a hex editor, search the application binary for the IP or the domain name, and just change it. Or he might have stored it in a resource fork, in which case resedit would work. It's not hard to use resedit- especially if you know the string you need, just open (a copy) of the app, search for the string, and update whatever locations use it, with a new one.
